Goals and Objectives
The Center for Student Learning has the following academic
goals and objectives for student learning:
- Student will demonstrate proficiency in core
academic areas (math, language arts, science, social studies) through
a standards based curriculum.
- Students will demonstrate a proficiency in
the use and applications of technology for research, educational and
vocational employment purposes.
- Students will reach their individual
maximum learning potential and individual learning goals.
What is a Charter
School?
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Education a charter school
is a ‘self managed public school that is approved by local school districts.’
Each charter school is borne out of a local need to serve children
,and the Center For Student Learning is particularly proud of its own
unique beginning to serve a segment of students who’s needs were not
being met by traditional education. Charter Schools are further
defined as being able to operate free from many school mandates while
adhering to all nondiscriminatory, health and safety laws.
Is there tuition?
No, CSL is a public school with no tuition or fees associated.
Is transportation provided?
Transportation is provided by the school district in which the student
resides.. If the student resides in a non transportation district,
transportation is a responsibility of the student’s family.
Who is eligible to attend?
Anyone under the age of 21 in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Do your student participate in
the PSSA?
Yes, CSL students are required to participate in the Pennsylvania System
of School Assessment (PSSA).
